In December 2000 I had a Baclofen pump installed and a new one installed July 2009. Now, instead of taking 120mg/day of oral Baclofen I only need 1,300 mcg/day of Baclofen (anti-spasmodic), or about 1%. The pump is about the size of a hockey puck and sits directly below the skin in my lower left abdomen. A tube reaches around my left side and is inserted into the spinal cord at about T-10 where the medicine is actually needed. I used to have intractable spasms; now I have NONE.
